052509: A month ago on April 22nd I posted a photo of a House Finch's nest with five eggs nestled inside. Sadly, all of the eggs disappeared soon after, more than likely due to other birds in the area. Fortunately, Mama House Finch (& Papa, too) didn't give into the raiding of their nest and she laid 5 more eggs and sat firmly on her nest starting about two weeks ago. I did my hatching calculations and guessed the nest would start hatching this weekend. Obviously the above photo is the result of the beginning the hatch. Since then I have taken a photo of all five baby birds hatched and the parents deligently caring for their brood.
