When school lets out is when we see the activity level on the lake kick into a higher gear. Though we are always pleased to hear people say how calm the lake is - not the craziness of so many lakes in the So. California area.
We attribute our relative calmness to the rural location of Topaz Lake and the presence of our Mono County Boating Sheriff. Both facts keep our lake safe for all types of boaters, watercraft, etc.
Usually in the spring and fall we also see two different planes use Topaz Lake as a landing place. One is relatively small and the other looks like the Spruce Goose compared to the size of the lake!
But today it was just fishing boats and this sailboat traversing the lake in the calm breezes of the afternoon.
